Article 2, Section 1, Paragraphs 7-8
The President shall, at stated Times, receive for his Services, a Compensation, which shall neither be increased nor diminished during the Period for which he shall have been elected, and he shall not receive within that Period any other Emolument from the United States, or any of them.
Before he enter on the Execution of his Office, he shall take the following Oath or Affirmation:—"I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my Ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States."
So What Happened?
The motivation of a person in the presidential office is highly suspect. Why would such a person spend millions of dollars to purchase the office, unless there are very high stakes involved in having it? If the office were reserved for solely protecting and defending the U.S. Constitution, presidents would be elected constitutionally and based on integrity, honor, and righteousness.
On the contrary, suspicions run high in Washington D.C. There are constant complaints regarding a president’s past affiliations, and the catering to these interests. Considering the vast amounts of money that is invested to put a person in “power,” it is understandable that there are illicit obligations attached to a candidate.
One president pushes through special favors for peanut farmers. Another uses bombings of foreign targets to offset the bad publicity that inevitably results from his immorality.
Gross evidence of the rejection of the presidential oath is seen in the hundreds of displaced employees in the presidential office. The political party of the president should not matter. The Constitution is independent. Officers hired to support the president, should be able to remain in their office, no matter who becomes the president.
An example of this is Daniel. He was of royal blood in Israel, yet he was placed as a high officer under Babylonian rule. He served under several kings, and when Babylon was overthrown, retained his position. Although one might worry about him being loyal to his homeland, he was first loyal to God and the emperors could not find a better assistant in their entire realm. Daniel excelled in leadership, loyalty and learning.
Presidents look at the oath of office as a ceremony that issues powers for them to promote their own unconstitutional ideals of bringing world peace, world order, educational reform, health care reform, military reform, space programs, welfare reforms, and overall a much larger and intrusive federal government. What we need is a president who will take the oath seriously and rid us of the many unconstitutional laws and agencies that exist.
