Article 2, Section 1, Paragraph 2
Each State shall appoint, in such Manner as the Legislature thereof may direct, a Number of Electors, equal to the whole Number of Senators and Representatives to which the State may be entitled in the Congress: but no Senator or Representative, or Person holding an Office of Trust or Profit under the United States, shall be appointed an Elector.
Electors to Number Congressional Numbers
To represent the states in an even manner, the number of senators and representatives from each state give the number of electors for a state to choose. Again, this is upside down in God’s Kingdom, but seeks to please the most people involved.
While there were times that citizens were directed to choose out leaders for themselves, this was a result of human recommendation, not divine. God always appoints people to do a job that needs to be done. He chose the judges that would free Israel from the foreign invaders and put Israel back in a place of respect, when they worshipped and followed God. It was God who appointed Moses and the kings over Israel. The ones He did not appoint, or were unqualified, yet assumed office, were evil.
If this nation cared about what is right, they could appoint electors as prescribed, but these electors would go and pray until they could come away from their knees knowing the person that should be president. This person would then be anointed for office, and would hold the office until death.
A nation cannot afford corruption on any level, as it will lead to ruin, and the harm to many people.
Psalm 33:10-12, "The LORD bringeth the counsel of the heathen to nought: he maketh the devices of the people of none effect. The counsel of the LORD standeth for ever, the thoughts of his heart to all generations. Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD; and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance."
