Postal & Communication Services
Government must control communication channels.
In order for communication systems to operate as smoothly as possible throughout a country, the government needs to control them. However, there is a double sword to efficient communication. Although the gospel can spread easier, filth spreads like a flood.
When the Constitution was written, the concern was for a postal system. Now the communication systems include radio, television, cable systems, satellite systems, telephone, internet, and several other systems. Where Government is staying out of the picture, things are very immoral and abuses are abundant.
Originally, Congress set the postal routes, rates and rules. People had a voice, and the postal system was expanded as the country grew. People of a town or location only had to make a request to Congress to be considered for a post office.
Communication systems are necessary today because of the large barriers that exist between people and cities. By sending messages, a society can conduct business, stay in touch with friends, as well as know what is happening in various parts of the world. The government is needed to protect the messages, and ensure the safety of citizens who receive things through these mediums. Even electronic messages can carry "viruses" that infect a person’s communication portal.
The Biblical means of communication is through fellowship among God's people. The church is an assembly of believers who can share with each other, through their regular meetings, information pertinent to each other. God told the Israelites that the whole nation was to meet for feast days at least three times a year. It was at these events that everyone could meet friends from all over the world and catch up on news, as well as hear the latest sermons, laws, politics, and so forth.
God’s Word is clear about a Christian’s "communication" in this world!
