The U.S. Constitution in Light of Eternity

by Rev. Clinton Macomber

Article 1, Section 8, Paragraphs 1-4

The Congress shall have Power To lay and collect Taxes, Duties, Imposts and Excises, to pay the Debts and provide for the common Defence and general Welfare of the United States; but all Duties, Imposts and Excises shall be uniform throughout the United States;

To borrow Money on the credit of the United States;

To regulate Commerce with foreign Nations, and among the several States, and with the Indian Tribes;

What Happened?

To establish an uniform Rule of Naturalization, and uniform Laws on the subject of Bankruptcies throughout the United States;

Bankruptcy

National bankruptcy comes from uncontrolled immigration.

Congress is to set fair and equal standards for naturalization of immigrants. As we are seeing today, immigration and naturalization can completely disrupt a country’s economy. The extra burden on jobs, housing, welfare, education, medical care, as well as social tension take great a great toll on a stable country.

Not only is there an impact financially, there are moral, social, religious, and cultural impacts. Such immigration has brought the Mafia and now many Asian gangs to our shores. We have been impacted by the foreign influx of psychedelic drugs and degraded by the persistent foreign culture of drunkenness and prostitution. The reign of terror and riots has gone on almost unhindered.

A country has to protect itself and cannot have open borders. Open borders would allow a country to be defeated from the inside. The United States is very fortunate to have a giant moat on two sides and land barriers on the other two sides. It does have thousands of miles of borders to watch and regulate.
