Article 1, Section 5, Paragraph 1
Each House shall be the Judge of the Elections, Returns and Qualifications of its own Members, and a Majority of each shall constitute a Quorum to do Business; but a smaller Number may adjourn from day to day, and may be authorized to compel the Attendance of absent Members, in such Manner, and under such Penalties as each House may provide.
So what happened?
The Constitution makes valuable provisions to police themselves. Because the members do not have a stomach for upholding righteousness, the Houses have become defiled.
We are to become Kings and Priests unto God. It is important to represent our inheritance of people to God and then teach the people the ways and laws of God.
We cannot allow ourselves to become sidetracked into ignoring our responsibilities. Not being in God’s presence means we will miss God’s instruction. Not teaching the people God’s Words will hinder their obedience and blessing.
The Houses could do much to purge away those who do not live an exemplary life. Those who lie, have broken covenants (marriage too), have used kickbacks, have accepted gifts, have a bad credit history, have broken laws, have shown disdain for the law, etc. should be dismissed. Lawbreakers cannot make good laws.
