Article 1, Section 3, Paragraph 7
Judgment in Cases of Impeachment shall not extend further than to removal from Office, and disqualification to hold and enjoy any Office of honor, Trust or Profit under the United States: but the Party convicted shall nevertheless be liable and subject to Indictment, Trial, Judgment and Punishment, according to Law.

Leadership can be removed for not being blameless.
This was a very wise move. When the Senate finds a person disqualified for public office, it does not end the liability of the person to prosecution in court.
The Court determines the legality issues and the proper punishment for crimes committed. Due process in court may take more time than a person’s term will last. In the mean while, the person is considered innocent until proven guilty by a judge after a trial.
By commissioning the Senate with the power to remove people from office, government can be quickly purged of people who are not qualified to serve officially, even if there is not a legal grounds for doing so. All they need is for the Representatives to impeach the person.
We read: “the Party convicted shall nevertheless be liable and subject to Indictment, Trial, Judgment and Punishment, according to Law.”
The Constitution makes it clear that conviction of the impeachment does not remove any aspect of the judicial process. In fact, it should automatically follow. It also does not allow for the findings of the Judiciary to cancel a dismissal.
God insists that Pastors be blameless, they are to serve as a role model to all citizens. Officials should also be held to such a standard.
1 Timothy 3:2, "A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach;"
When public opinion condemns a person, they cannot command the respect and dignity necessary to serve the Country properly any more than the leader of a church.
Leadership is much more than power.
