Article 1, Section 3, Paragraph 6
The Senate shall have the sole Power to try all Impeachments. When sitting for that Purpose, they shall be on Oath or Affirmation. When the President of the United States is tried, the Chief Justice shall preside: And no Person shall be convicted without the Concurrence of two thirds of the Members present.
So what happened?
In the last impeachment process, it became evident that a large number of Representatives and Senators were involved in the very same type of immorality and lies as the one exposed.
This is a very serious situation. It was an open revelation that our officials were so corrupt there was not even integrity in their marriages and personal relationships.
As such, these members could not vote appropriately without condemning themselves as well.
John 8:7-9, "So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her. And again he stooped down, and wrote on the ground. And they which heard it, being convicted by their own conscience, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, even unto the last: and Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst."
When we elect officials who have not proven themselves to be of great integrity, honesty, and godliness, we are asking for great suffering due to their depravity.
Now, not only are our officials corrupt, they are incapable of holding themselves to the very least standards of conduct, ethics, morality, or anything else!
Without the threat of impeachment, our officials are getting away with too much.
