Article 1, Section 3, Paragraph 3
No Person shall be a Senator who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty Years, and been nine Years a Citizen of the United States, and who shall not, when elected, be an Inhabitant of that State for which he shall be chosen.
So what happened?
Instead of getting older, wise and experienced people to be in this house, we elect showy, irresponsible, foolish people who are hoping to pander to the highest bidder.
Millions of dollars are spent to “win” the office. Bribes abound everywhere and over everything.
Lately, the inhabitant rule has been ignored. It is interpreted as having a house in the state.
Senators are chosen by the people if they “look” attractive, can speak well, are well known, and will be able to extract more “benefits” for the citizens of a state.
We need senators who are responsible and recognize the burden of taxes, and will do anything to reduce such a burden.
We need senators that recognize when government is overstepping its bounds and so will reduce the size and influence of government.
We need senators who are wise and cannot be bribed, and who know what they are there to do.
