The U.S. Constitution in Light of Eternity

by Rev. Clinton Macomber

Article 1, Section 2, Paragraph 2

What Happened?

No Person shall be a Representative who shall not have attained to the Age of twenty five Years, and been seven Years a Citizen of the United States, and who shall not, when elected, be an Inhabitant of that State in which he shall be chosen.

No Person

Due to the nature of human beings, it is sad that even assumed details must be mentioned.

This paragraph starts with the requirement that the Representative be a person.

In the future, Antichrist will have the world worship “The Beast.” Whatever this thing is, it is not human and cannot represent human beings, Reveleation 13. If you do not worship this image, you are killed.

This is the culmination of the depravity of man and leaders. Instead of taking proper responsibility for their job as leaders, men are too willing to leave the job to anyone or anything else.

People are just as lazy when it comes to knowing whom they are putting in office. It is not unheard of to have an animal elected.

human sheep?

Human flesh is different than all others, and no matter what opinion or false science may state, it should not be replaced in government.

1 Corinthians 15:39, "All flesh is not the same flesh: but there is one kind of flesh of men, another flesh of beasts, another of fishes, and another of birds."

People have inherent weaknesses, and this must be taken into account when choosing leaders and in enforcing laws.

Psalm 78:38, "But he, being full of compassion, forgave their iniquity, and destroyed them not: yea, many a time turned he his anger away, and did not stir up all his wrath."

People certainly are not gods, nor can they become gods. This is a certain test of absolute depravity when a people and leader accept such a lie.

Isaiah 31:3, "Now the Egyptians are men, and not God; and their horses flesh, and not spirit. When the LORD shall stretch out his hand, both he that helpeth shall fall, and he that is holpen shall fall down, and they all shall fail together."

A government is established through mercy, something that requires human leadership.

Isaiah 16:5, "And in mercy shall the throne be established: and he shall sit upon it in truth in the tabernacle of David, judging, and seeking judgment, and hasting righteousness."

Human leadership has flaws, but it is superior to any other kind!
